Saul Hudson, also known as Slash, is a British-American musician, songwriter, and record producer. He was born on July 23, 1965, in Hampstead, London, England. Slash is best known as the lead guitarist of the American hard rock band Guns N' Roses, with whom he achieved worldwide success in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Prior to joining Guns N' Roses, Slash played in a number of other bands, including Road Crew, Black Sheep, and Hollywood Rose. He formed Guns N' Roses in 1985 with singer Axl Rose, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler. The band released their debut album, "Appetite for Destruction," in 1987, which became one of the best-selling albums of all time.
After the breakup of Guns N' Roses in the late 1990s, Slash formed several other bands, including Slash's Snakepit and Velvet Revolver. He has also released several solo albums and collaborated with numerous other musicians throughout his career.
Slash is widely regarded as one of the greatest guitarists of all time, known for his distinctive playing style and ability to blend elements of rock, blues, and heavy metal. He has also been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, both as a member of Guns N' Roses and as a solo artist.
